"Homosexuality Is a Sin!"

Human created by God. Well, that is what I have got told since I was a little girl. All the logical value, sensitivity, emotion and all the things that cannot be seen are hiding inside human’s mind, waiting to be explored someday. Human use those kinds of things to predict about weather, to feel the pain when their toe got pricked by a little thorn, to learn how to make a sandwich, to burst out tears when saw a melancholic drama or maybe just to fall in love with stranger.

When you like someone, I bet you were not planned to like him or her. For example, you like him or her by the first impression, or maybe you like him or her just in the way he or she talks, or when you think “where does she have such a beautiful smile like that?” In some cases you like someone if he or she makes a huge difference in your life. There are many reasons if you want to find out but there is no a plan to do a thing like that. Because when you like someone, you just did then things are getting sweeter when you realized you started to fall in love with him or her and he or she loved you back.

Love also created by God. Well, that is what I have got told when I was a little girl. God created love and let it happen between God and God’s mankind and also between 2 human beings. On the first place, it is because God wants to be loved and God – with no doubt – also will love you back. For the second place, it is because we are just human. We live contiguously and we need each other. Love basically happen between a man and a woman because they are perfect for each other. A man needs a woman to make them a sandwich or a bowl of chicken soup in the rainy day. A woman needs a man to build a warehouse outside their house or to check the engine inside their SUV. A man and a woman just like missing puzzle pieces which make each other feel complete very well; that is what most people said about a usual relationship.

But what if a man felt his heart beats fast when another man held his hand? What if a woman felt more comfortable and more secure when another woman hug her? What if some people out there found their missing puzzle pieces in others who have same sex as theirs? What if it is just their other half? But the way people think as their belief of a certain opinion, that it is an abomination. “Homosexuality is a sin!” “Fags go to hell!” People wrote on a board and walked around the street, defying the existence of homosexual.

Being gay is not a western invention. It is a human reality. Whether you are straight, gay, lesbian, or bi; you are just human and human needs to love and to be loved. Even a dinosaur needs another too. Why make it so complicated?  We have the same skeletons. We breathe the same air. We stand on the ground and live under the sky. The only difference between heterosexual couples and homosexual couples is the genders of the two partners. Because when you fall in love, you fall in love with people not the gender, then why we make gender such a big issue in the relationship?

Do you know what are they looking for? An acceptance. Just an acceptance in the big world while some religion people sometimes ignore the facts that everything could happen in this world. Like what I said before, people were not planning to be in love with others, strangers or not, once you feel love – you cannot refuse it. Then if some people blame all of the sin on homosexual, it is similar like they blame cupid for aiming his arrow. Why do we could not accept them for being who they really are? Why are we making such an issue out of it whereas in fact it is not really affecting us of our lives? No one’s asking them to be homosexual. Because being a homosexual was not a choice. No one wants to be mocked every single day in their entire life. If it was a choice, then maybe they would choose to be a straight man when they can fall in love with their opposite sex, because it is normal and because the society said so. But they did not.

Human are still human. We are surrounded with our imperfection and each of us has our own weaknesses and vulnerabilities. We are the same as others. What makes us different is people’s thought about class, gender, sexuality, race, ethnics and etc. Why could not we look inside ourselves first before we judge people? It would avoid us from being ashamed. We cannot label people by the first impression we first met them or the day afterwards whereas all we know about them just their name not the story behind it.

In my opinion, homosexuality is not a sin at all. Homosexuality is one of a kind of sexual orientation besides heterosexuality, bisexuality and asexual. People think that it is an abomination because all they have got told since they were a little kid is a relationship normally happen between a man and a woman, just like their parents. Then what is wrong with being different and live the life you have given unusually? You have to be proud because you are unlike other people who lived their lives normally and everything seems perfect. For what I have been told, perfect is boring. That is all my ideas about homosexuality, you can have yours :)
